Located near the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone, the new $175 million airport is the first privately financed international airport in Laos. It was developed under a 50-year BOT agreement by an affiliate of the Dok Ngiew Kham Group. The airport plans to connect the region with major cities like Bangkok, Hanoi, Kunming, and Hong Kong.
