Vietnam pushes Norway over $136 billion energy plan

“Vietnam has encouraged Norway to increase investment in renewable energy projects as the country plans to invest an estimated $136 billion in expanding its power system, according to Báo Nghệ An.”

“The discussions also covered progress on the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EFTA countries, as well as Vietnam’s request for Norwegian financial and technical support for energy infrastructure under its national power development plan.”

“According to Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam expects electricity demand to grow by 10–12% annually and aims to raise total power capacity to more than 150 gigawatts by 2030.”
