Papua New Guinea Post-Courier

“China’s Silk Road Ark hospital ship arrives in Papua New Guinea later this month that will mark a major expansion of China’s humanitarian outreach in the region and broader inclusivity in its foreign policy.”

“It is part of its Mission Harmony-2025 that started in early September with the naval hospital ship sailing to Latin America and conducted medical services with cultural exchange activities.”

“The mission aims to strengthen friendly cooperation between China and relevant countries, offer more public safety resources to the international community, and further advance the concepts of a community with a shared future for mankind and a maritime community of shared future.”

“The 220-day mission, the longest in the series, will see the ship visit around a dozen nations –– including Nauru, Fiji, Tonga, Mexico, Jamaica, Barbados, Brazil, Peru, Chile, and Papua New Guinea –– to provide humanitarian medical services.”
